A Season of Waiting
In the 25th chapter of his book, the prophet Isaiah says,
8 He will swallow up death forever;
and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces,
and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
for the LORD has spoken.
9 It will be said on that day,
“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.
This is the LORD; we have waited for him;
let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
The Advent season starts a new year in the Church calendar. The year begins with a “season of waiting.” We are called to wait, empowered by the Spirit of God and his grace, for the promise Isaiah has spoken. This promise is sure and secure because Jesus has come. We invite you to join us this season for the four Sundays of Advent as we Wait in Hope, Wait in Peace, Wait in Joy, and Wait in Love.
