Our vision is to seek gospel renewal in East Columbia and to the ends of the earth
City of Hope was founded on the idea that the gospel of Jesus Christ reconciles people across dividing lines.
We believe that the gospel is good news of the work of Jesus Christ for the salvation of souls and the renewal of the cosmos. But it’s more than just news. This gospel is transformative; it is the power of God that changes lives to a new creation. We believe that because of Jesus’s commission to the church, we are called to seek gospel renewal for our community in East Columbia and to extend it out to all the earth. We believe that Jesus has called us to be a part of this gospel renewal in word and deed, seeking the kingdom of God by proclaiming this good news and by living it out in action.

Our Mission
Love God
Love Our Neighbors
Make Disciples
Live in Grace
The mission is given to us by God to carry out the vision. When asked what commandment is the greatest, Jesus answered that we must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Astonishingly, he said that the second is like it: to love our neighbor as ourselves. In doing so, Jesus was not only fulfilling all of the moral law of the Ten Commandments but also teaching how the gospel relates to both God and the world we live in.
This is expressed in the Great Commission Jesus gave his disciples when he left them, to go and make disciples of all nations. We aim to make disciples of Jesus Christ who fulfill the two greatest commandments. Such disciple making carries out the cultural mandate given to Adam and Eve in the garden to be fruitful and multiply in all areas of life, and we live in the grace of Christ as we do so. We believe that as we walk in obedience to God’s commands, in full dependence on the sufficiency of his grace, gospel renewal will take place—both in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

Our History
City of Hope Presbyterian Church (COHPC) was particularized in February of 2007 after two smaller multicultural churches merged to pool resources and pursue a vision of preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to a reconciled community across many cultural dividing lines.
Over the years, we are a church faithfully committed to sound teaching, consistently involved in a variety of outreach ministries in the surrounding community, and global-mission minded, including sending full time missionaries into the field.
The strengths of COHPC have always been the close-knit relationships (strengthened by a small group ministry), warm hospitality and a family feel amongst the congregation. The best way to know this is to experience this for yourself. The first step is to come and visit us. We'd love to see you there!
